First seen earlier this year at Computex 2015, the Strix is ASUS' new range of premium gaming soundcards.

The ASUS Strix Raid DLX and Strix Soar will both support high resolution 24-bit/192kHz audio as well as 7.1 surround sound. The two soundcards will also be able to drive headphones of up to 600 ohms impedance, and will also feature swappable op-amps to let enthusiasts tweak the sound signature to their liking.

However, the Strix Raid DLX will feature the more high-end ESS Sabre 9016 DAC and a higher signal-to-noise ratio of 124dB, whereas the Strix Soar will come with the ESS Sabre 9006A DAC and will have a lower signal-to-noise ratio of 116dB.

The Strix Raid DLX will also come with a special audio control box that allows users to quickly and conveniently adjust volume, and has external ports and jacks for headphones or auxiliary sources. There's also a special button to activate Raid mode. Raid mode is basically a customizable button that can be used to adjust other audio aspects. For instance, the Raid mode can be mapped to bass so activating it will allow users to quickly adjust bass levels using the audio control box.

The Strix Raid DLX and Strix Soar are both available now with the former priced at S$319 and the latter at a more affordable S$159. Both soundcards will come with 3-year carry-in warranties.
