Galaxy S6 to be stripped of Samsung apps, may come bundled with Microsoft apps

Hardware may not be the only major change we are going to see in the next Galaxy S6; Samsung may be bringing a major overhaul of its software on the smartphone.

According to SamMobile, an inside source claims that Samsung will be removing all pre-installed apps such as S Voice, S Health and S Note to deliver a smoother, less bloated user experience. These apps will be available for download on its Galaxy Apps store.

Ironically, Samsung may be bundling several Microsoft apps - OneNote, OneDrive, Office Mobile, Skype and others - with the Galaxy S6. It was suggested that this could be a deal made between the two companies after they recently settled their patent royalty dispute

When it comes to navigation and performance, the new TouchWiz is said to be "amazingly fast" with a lot of animations and effects adopted from Android 5.0 Lollipop. Samsung's default keyboard is also redesigned to mirror that of the Galaxy Tab S and Apple's iOS. Moreover, there will be more theming options and colorful icons.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S6 and possibly a curved variant at the Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event on March 1st in Barcelona. If rumors of the major redesigns in hardware and software pan out, the Galaxy S6 model(s) may steal the limelight away from HTC which is also holding an event on the same day.

TouchWiz could be toned down in Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S6 smartphone.
