The final version of the software benchmark will be released following the official availability of Windows 8.

Futuremark, together with MSI, will be showcasing 3DMark for Windows 8 later today at Computex. This is a continuing partnership for Futuremark and MSI, after the pair debuted 3DMark 11 two years ago at Computex 2010.

The 3Dmark for Windows 8 DirectX 11.1 tech demo will be powered by MSI’s flagship GeForce GTX 680 Lightning graphics card to highlight its next-generation gaming effects. 3DMark for Windows 8 is currently in development and is expected to be released later this year.

Jukka Mäkinen, Futuremark CEO, said,

"Windows 8 will introduce DirectX 11.1 offering players new game enhancing graphical effects. We are excited to join with MSI to showcase these new features in an exclusive 3DMark for Windows 8 tech demo that will premiere at Computex.
