Future Apple iPhones to sport AMOLED displays from Samsung?

Apple may ditch LCD for AMOLED on its future iPhones if things work out well with Samsung.

According to Korean publication ETNews, Apple is currently sourcing OLED displays for the Apple Watch from Samsung. It also added that Samsung is providing OLED panel samples to Apple for testing purposes, with the latter expected to make a decision soon whether to stick with LCD.

Earlier in June, MKNews reported that LG Display is the sole supplier of panels for the Apple Watch due to high quality panels, good production yields and a close partnership. Now, it seems that LG has some tough competition. If Apple adopts AMOLED displays for the iPhone, you can look forward to more vibrant screens and better battery life.
