Future Apple iPhones to have louder and clearer speaker output?

Apple was recently awarded a patent for a revamped speaker design that has an audio chamber to pump out louder and clearer audio.

The Apple iPhones do not have the best speakers in the market, but that is set to change in the coming years.

Apple sent in a patent application in 2013 which was recently awarded to the company for a revamped speaker design. The new speaker design states that there is an audio chamber within a device which can deliver louder and clearer audio. Apparently, Apple was looking for a new approach to offer high-quality audio on its mobile devices which were getting thinner every year.

“The invention pertains to a portable electronic device that provides compact configurations for audio elements. The audio elements can be drivers (e.g., speakers) or receivers (e.g., microphones). In one embodiment, an audio element can be mounted on or coupled to an intermediate structure (e.g., a flexible electrical substrate) having an opening therein to allow audio sound to pass there through. In another embodiment, an audio chamber can be formed to assist in directing audio sound between an opening an outer housing and a flexible electronic substrate to which the audio element is mounted or coupled thereto.”

There have been several rumors surfacing in the past few weeks on Apple removing the 3.5mm audio jack and adopting noise-canceling headphone technology. It also has a patent for a self-healing iPhone where a special tone can be played through the speaker to get rid of water. Hopefully, all these technologies and improvements will debut on the iPhone 7 this year.
