Foxconn Buys Stake in Hitachi Displays

Tech Connect - According to reports from the Nikkei newspaper, Taiwanese IT giant, Foxconn, is expected to purchase a total of 100 billion yen (approximately 1.21 billion US dollars) in shares of Hitachi Displays Ltd, a subsidiary of Hitachi's LCD panel manufacturing business. Allegedly, Foxconn is poised to command a stake in Hitachi Displays, with funds from the new venture company used to build an LCD plant targeted to begin operations in 2012.
