The Samsung Galaxy S II proves itself to be the hottest Android smartphone at the moment with the impressive sales of five million units in 85 days.
According to InformationWeek, Samsung sold an average of 59,000 Galaxy S IIs per day since it was available. It was barely three weeks ago that Samsung hit the three million mark and sales are expected to increase tremendously as it becomes available in more countries. With the release of the Galaxy S II in China this week and an imminent U.S launch in August, Samsung is on track to hitting its goal of selling 10 million units.
InformationWeek - "Since being launched into the retail market in late April, the Galaxy S II has seen tremendous growth," JK Shin, head of Samsung’s mobile communications business, said in a statement.
It is not surprising to see Samsung doing very well with the Galaxy S II. After all, it is very rare for a phone to clinch our Editor's Choice Award as competition is very stiff these days. This only means one thing - the Samsung Galaxy S II is really good. However, we cannot help but wonder if the rumored release of the next iPhone in September would have any negative impact on the sales of the Galaxy S II.
