The Mozilla organization states that with Firefox 14, users can expect improved speeds, from startup and page load times, to panning and zooming. They even claim that the new version is twice as fast as the stock Android browser, according to their own in-house benchmarking tool called Eideticker. Besides a snappier web browsing experience, user experience is also enhanced when running mobile web apps such as Mozilla’s BrowserQuest game.

With a more robust sync feature called Awesome Screen, powered by Firefox Sync, it brings all of your bookmarks, passwords, browsing history as well as form data from your computer to your smartphone. Mozilla has attempted to make this transition seamless by optimizing other features like tabbed browsing and add-ons for a more desktop-like experience.

Firefox 14 for Android further supports Flash and with its new HTML5 capabilities, users can be assured that they can enjoy support for the latest multimedia experience when they browse to HTML5-enabled sites. Android tablets are currently unsupported but the next version, Firefox 15, will address this shortcoming.
