File Sharing and Non Profit P2P Use Ruled Legal in Spain

In Spain, a judge has ruled that file-sharing and P2P sites that have links to copyrighted material which are non profit are considered legal. This is in line with previous rulings but the real cake on the icing is the addition that users who use such sites to download material are also considered legal if the downloads are for non-profit use. That's a big blow to the music/movie industry, so expect an instant appeal to be lodged...

torrentfreak.com - Despite many rulings which have declared file-sharing sites legal if they don’t profit directly from copyright infringements, in recent years its become something of a custom in Spain for music rights groups to attempt to close down sites in advance of a full hearing to assess their legality.
