Fender launches S$1,999 FXA9 in-ear monitors in Singapore

Update (5th May 2017, 10 A.M.): TC Acoustics said that they released erroneous recommended retail prices (RRP) for the IEMs, and have since amended it. We are reflecting their new RRPs.

Last year’s in-ear monitors (IEMs) by Fender were a hit, and it prompted the guitar maker to produce a refreshed series for 2017. With that, Fender Musical Instruments Corporation launched the FXA9 for professionals in Singapore (pictured above) – IEMs with an official retail price of S$1,999.

Fender FXA9

According to TC Acoustic’s media release, the Fender FXA9 comes with six HEXAD drivers (balanced armature configuration) and a Groove-tuned bass port. The drivers are supported by three independent sound-bores. The official Fender IEM distributor in Singapore also mentioned that the IEM shells fit 95% of ears, offering a custom-like experience.

Also included on the FXA9 is a detachable, triple silver-plated, low-oxygen cable by MMCXi, along with its 24k gold-plated audio jack. It comes with a carrying case, a 6.5mm-to-3.5mm audio jack adapter, ear tips in four sizes, and a cleaning tool. It’s available in Pearl White, Chameleon, and Bronze Pearl.

Fender CXA1

If you’re looking for regular IEMs by Fender instead, you’ll be glad to know that they launched the CXA1 pair at S$219 (that’s certainly more affordable). It uses a full-range 8.5mm titanium micro-driver for audio, and it comes with a three-button remote and in-line microphone for phone calls and music playback control. Included is a carrying case, an airline adapter for plugging into in-flight entertainment systems, and a cleaning tool. It’s available in colors Metallic Blue, Metallic Black, and Metallic White.
