Popular benchmarking app AnTuTu just published the top 10 smartphones of 2015 and the device sitting at the throne is not an Android. It's the Apple iPhone 6s Plus!

The A9-powered iPhone 6s Plus led the competition by a significant margin; the iPhone 6s Plus had a score of 132,620 while the Huawei Mate 8 came in second with a score of 92,746. Rounding up the top five are the Meizu Pro 5, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+.

Surprisingly, the iPhone 6 Plus managed to land itself in sixth position ahead of One Plus 2, Le 1 Pro, Xiaomi Mi Note Pro and the Huawei Nexus 6P.  It's noteworthy to mention that the dual-core A9 outranks the "octa-core" processors found in the other Android flagship smartphones in a leaked screenshot last month.

It will be interesting to see if the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8 Octa chipsets can dethrone the A9 chipset later this year.
