Facebook today rolls out a new feature which will make you spend more time on the social networking site.

Starting today, 360 videos posted by publishers such as Star Wars, Discovery and GoPro will appear in your News Feed. You can explore these videos by dragging around the video with your cursor on the web, your finger on mobile devices or simply turning your device.

Not everyone has the necessary equipment to create 360 videos. Facebook states that a special set of cameras is required to record all 360 degrees of a scene simultaneously. The project to launch 360 videos was done in collaboration with Oculus - a virtual reality firm which it acquired last year - and the News Feed teams.

They are currently two available 360 videos and they are Star Wars: The Force Awakens, GoPro Spherical: Sand Dune Jumping in VR with Ronnie Renner. Facebook claims that more 360 videos will be uploaded in the coming days by video creators and storytellers.

To view these 360 degree videos, you have to be using Facebook (duh!) on the web or Android. iOS, Safari and Internet Explorer users have to wait for a few months.
