Expect to see the new MacBook Air with USB Type-C port in October

Apple gave the 13-inch MacBook Air a slight spec bump in April 2016.

While the 7 September event will focus on the new iPhones and two Apple Watch models, October will be the month for Apple to refresh its Mac lineup.

According to Bloomberg, Apple will introduce new models of the iMac, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and a 5K standalone monitor. For the new iMacs, customers have the option to choose new graphic chips from AMD. The new MacBook Air will come with USB Type-C ports just like the 12-inch MacBook.

As for the MacBook Pro, Bloomberg shared more information in a report earlier this month. The standalone 5K monitor marks the return to the monitor business for Apple after it discontinued the 27-inch Thunderbolt display. The new monitor is also built in collaboration with LG.

No updates will be coming to the iPad lineup this year although Apple is said to be working on new iPad features for professional users. The Apple Pencil will be integrated further into the OS for use with more apps. In terms of hardware, the iPad will sport faster display technologies which allow smoother zooming, panning and scrolling.
