Dropbox Announces New APIs to Sync Any App on Any Device
Dropbox has just announced new APIs at its first developer conference to help apps sync data across multiple devices.
Dropbox is also introducing what it calls 'Drop-ins', the first two of which are Chooser and Saver. They allow apps to use the 'Save' and 'Open' Dropbox windows to save and select files in the owner's Dropbox folder. For example, the Mailbox email app for iOS - which was bought by Dropbox for a reported US$100 million - can now attach files from within the Dropbox folder, it is the first iOS email app to be able to send attachments other than photos.
