If you find the current Phantom 4 Pro too expensive, the latest DJI Phantom 4 Advanced is worthy of your consideration as it has many similar features at a more affordable price tag.

The Phantom 4 Advanced shares many features as the Pro model which include the 1-inch, 20-megapixel camera sensor with a mechanical shutter, H.264 4K video at 60fps, H.265 video at 30fps, Burst Mode still images at 14fps, flight time of up to 30 minutes, maximum video transmission range of 7km and the automatic flight modes such as Draw.

However, the Phantom 4 Advanced lacks the Pro's five-directions of obstacle sensing and four-directions of obstacle avoidance features. Instead, the Advanced's five vision sensors can only sense obstacles in two different directions and forward-vision obstacle avoidance.

The Phantom 4 Advanced comes in two options: standard RC and RC with Screen (also known as the Phantom 4 Advanced+).  The standard RC model requires you to mount a smartphone onto the controller's dock while the Phantom 4 Advanced+ comes with a controller that has a built-in 5.5-inch 1080p display.

Both options are now available for purchase online for US$1,399 (~S$1,954) and US$1,799 (~S$2,513) respectively. In comparison, the Phantom 4 Pro is priced at US$1,599 (~S$2,234). The Phantom 4 will reach its End of Life (EOL) at the end of this month. Existing Phantom 4 users will continue to receive after-sales support.
