The new Richland APUs are AMD Socket FM2 compliant and are still manufactured using the 32nm fabrication process. However, they will feature an improved version of the current Piledriver microarchitecture that is utilized by the incumbent Trinity APUs. While true to their word of keeping the Socket FM2 relevant for another generation, the new accompanying boards will feature the A85X 'Bolton D3' chipset that has native support for four USB 3.0 ports, fourteen USB 2.0 ports and eight SATA 6Gbps devices.

The details of the upcoming APUs are as follows:

Specifications of AMD A-Series Richland Desktop APUs
Model CPU Cores Radeon
GPU
TDP
A10-6800K 4 HD 8670D 100W
A8-6600K 4 HD 8570D 100W
A10-6700 4 HD 8670D 65W
A8-6500 4 HD 8570D 65W
A6-6400K 2 HD 8470D 65W
A4-6300 2 HD 8370D 65W

The 'K' suffix denotes the APU is unlocked for easy overclocking. The first two quad-cores APUs will have a TDP of 100W, while the rest of the APUs will have a lower TDP of 65W. In terms of the integrated GPU, the quad-core APUs will feature either a Radeon HD 8670D GPU or an HD 8570D GPU. The dual-cores will sport lower-ends graphics core engines of either an HD 8470D or an HD 8370D GPU.

The Richland APUs are currently being shipped to OEMs; however, there is no word on their local availability and pricing at the moment. Do watch this space for more future updates.
