Dell UltraSharp 27

If you need an ultra high resolution display, Apple's new iMac with 5K Retina display will not be the only option soon. Dell has just announced that its new UltraSharp 27 monitor will go on sale here later in December for US$2499 (around S$3229 at the time of writing).

The UltraSharp 27 will have a native resolution of 5K, that's a whopping 5120 x 2880 pixels or 14.7 million pixels in total to be exact. This display is targeted at enthusiasts who need tremendous desktop real estate to edit their high resolution content. The 5K resolution will allow video professionals to edit 4K in full native resolution and still have space for other elements and assets.

The UltraSharp 27 also comes with integrated Harmon Kardon speakers that have a combined rated output of 32W. It also features a built-in USB 3.0 hub - one upstream USB 3.0 port and five downstream USB 3.0 ports.

As for inputs, the monitor requires two DisplayPort inputs for 5K support and a single Mini-DisplayPort input for 4K resolution.
