Creative announces the release of the Sound Blaster FRee, a Bluetooth speaker for every moment.

Creative’s new multifunction wireless speaker has an extremely sporty design and looks like it will fit perfectly into the water bottle holder of most mountain bikes without looking out of place. But that seems to be exactly the idea with the Sound Blaster FRee – to go wherever you do.

Light and portable, the Sound Blaster FRee weighs just 466g and measures just 71.1 x 200.8 x 68.5mm, making it a perfect companion for those works in both horizontal and vertical orientations for 360-degree sound that’s powered by two custom-tuned Neodymium drivers and twin passive radiators for full-range sound.

The Sound Blaster FRee is available in a choice of White and Black.

Like the Sound Blaster Roar before it, the Sound Blaster FRee has an integrated MP3 player with playback controls so you can easily play music without even having to connect it to an external music source. Simply put in a microSD card full of your favourite tracks and you’re good to go.

When you do need to connect, the Sound Blaster FRee uses Bluetooth 4.0 technology with SBC and FastStream codecs for a quality wireless connection to your smartphone or tablet. You can also connect it to your PC or laptop via USB, giving you access to an entire suite of enhancement options courtesy of Creative’s SBX Pro Studio audio enhancement software.

No worries about spillage with the Sound Blaster FRee; it's IPX4 splash proof!

IPX4 splash resistance allows you to bring the Sound Blaster FRee to poolside parties, out camping, or even with you in the shower. The Sound Blaster FRee also gains a LOUD mode, which seems to operate on a similar idea as the ROAR mode on the Sound Blaster Roar 2, allowing you to boost the volume and spaciousness of your audio with just a touch of a button.

The Sound Blaster FRee will also act as a hands-free speakerphone with HD Voice for crystal clear audio when paired to your mobile phone via Bluetooth, switching over to your call by fading the music when a call comes in, then the bringing it back up when the call ends.

The Sound Blaster FRee will be available in July for S$149 at all authorized Creative resellers.
