Could We See the New Xbox Next Month?
According to sources familiar with Microsoft, the Xbox event that was initially slated for April has been pushed back to May. Technology blogger, Paul Thurrott, said that the event will be taking place on 21 May.
Additionally, it is said that the event will be a pretty low-key one in that it will be held at a small venue. The focus of the event will be to reveal first details of the new console, codenamed Durango. A full unveil of the console is expected to happen a month later in June at E3.
Recent rumors surrounding on the Xbox have hinted that the new console would require always-on Internet connection. Naturally, this irked fans and gamers. Furthermore, the situation hasn't been helped by Microsoft Studios Creative Director Adam Orth who tweeted that he didn't understand the drama and fuss and that people should "#dealwithit".
The new Xbox is expected to be released later this year, just in time for Christmas.
