Company Hub Concept Coming to Windows Phone 8

A handful of enterprise-centric features were made known in last week’s Windows Phone 8 Summit, but if you missed it out, here’s the brief rundown on what to expect:-

Touching upon the line-of-business (LOB) app deployment and management, today at Microsoft’s TechEd Europe 2012, Augusto Valdez, Senior Product Manager for Microsoft Windows Phone briefly shared with us of the Company Hub concept that would be coming up in Windows Phone 8 devices deployed for businesses.

This is a one-stop location where an enterprise can manage and push relevant company-centric news, information, reports and make available relevant enterprise apps for its employees. As access to it is managed by authentication, what’s seen in the Company Hub is highly relevant to individual users only, depending their clearance, designation and suitable resources. Note that enterprise-centric apps are deployed by certification and aren’t made available on the Windows Phone Marketplace.

Here’s a brief overview of different company/user-centric information you might have access to when your company deploys the Company Hub.

Currently, the Company Hub is only a concept and is a work-in-progress as Microsoft prepares various templates for easy internal deployment in the future.
