Coming soon: LG G3 Beat, Samsung Galaxy Core Prime and Samsung Galaxy Tab Active

A casual browse through IDA's recently approved equipment list brought up a few familiar product models that were recently announced (or leaked) elsewhere. First up, we have LG's G3 Beat which is basically a lower end version of the flagship LG G3 smartphone which comes with a smaller 5.0-inch 720p screen and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.2GHz processor. The LG G3 Beat was unveiled only months ago and it seems that it'll make its way to Singapore very soon, judging from the fact that the device was approved by IDA only early last month.

Besides LG, we also spotted two new Samsung products in the list, one of which is the latest Samsung Galaxy Core Prime smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy Core Prime was leaked earlier this month when it was listed in an Indian e-commerce website for Rs. 8,499. Although the listing has since been taken down, we know the smartphone is quite slim at only 8.8mm thin, and it comes with a 4.5-inch PLS LCD screen with WVGA (720x1280) resolution. It will run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and features a quad-core 1.3GHz processor with 1GB of RAM. Its main camera is equipped with a 5MP sensor while its front-facing camera is only 2MP. The phone comes with 8GB of storage (expandable by up to 64GB via microSD card) and a 2,000mAh battery. From the listing in IDA's site, it seems that Singapore's version of the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime will come with LTE.

Finally, there's the new Samsung Galaxy Tab Active which was announced just last month at IFA 2014. The new Samsung Galaxy Tab Active is a ruggedized tablet targeted specifically at business users. The IP67 certified tablet comes with an 8-inch WXGA LCD screen and it's powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1.5GB memory. Boasting anti-shock protection that can withstand drops of up to 1.2m when used with protective case and elastic material cover, the Samsung Galaxy Active tablet also protects against hackers through its defense-grade Samsung Knox mobile security software.
