Coast by Opera for the iPad Now Optimized for Touch and Gesture

Coast by Opera has rolled out a new approach of browsing the web on the iPad. The old scheme with back and forward buttons is axed; the new app is now optimized for touch and gesture, introducing swipe motions and new ways of viewing the webpage.

Users can immediately head to the webpage and start playing music after getting a hot tip about a cool remix on Soundcloud. The pages that play music or sounds visualize this in the home screen by showing off a small animation of a graphic equalizer in the website’s icon. You can also control music on the webpages from the iOS lock screen as though it was in the native music player app.

In addition, you can personalize your home screen with your preferred image. Choose a picture from your favorite website, or from your own pictures, or from eight of Coast's specially selected backgrounds. Besides, Coast has integrated PDF documents, so you can store that self-published book from your hipster friend. If you need to open that PDF outside Coast, or save it, Coast lets you choose a PDF-compatible app.

With this new upgrade of Coast, you'll navigate between pages speedily, so going back to the main page will happen in an instant. The Coast security engine was also updated to recognize attacks better than before.
