From CES to retail: Samsung's new curved monitors hitting stores soon

 The SE790C has a 34 inch display, a 21:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 3440 x 1440.

The progress of technology waits for no man. Whether we like them or not, curved displays are here and they aim to stick around for a while. If you're wondering why all the fuss about curved displays, you might want to read up on our earlier article explaining why exactly curved displays are better than standard ones.

For those who've been waiting with bated breath ever since our CES 2015 article about the Samsung SE790C 34 inch curved display went live, you'll be pleased to know that the wait is almost over. Samsung's just announced that the display will be hitting local shores in just a few weeks with pre-orders open from now till the 10th of March at all major electronic stores. It'll release on the 19th of March, with a retail price of $1698.

Samsung also has a smaller curved display if you think 34 inches is a bit too large for you.

The SD590C is smaller than the SE790C at 27 inches, and it also has a lower resolution but it's also much cheaper.

The Samsung SD590C is a tad smaller at 27 inches and only has a Full HD display (1920 x 1080). It also has a 16:9 aspect ratio. If you're going after the SD590C, it's already in stores now and going for a paltry $548 at all major electronic stores.

Both monitors have won CES Innovation awards, with the bigger SE790C winning the 2015 one and the smaller SD590C nabbing 2014's.
