Canon Unveils the Latest Additions to Its PIXMA MX Printers

SINGAPORE - Canon announces the launch of four new additions to the popular PIXMA range of printers. Developed with the objective of bringing enhanced productivity to small-medium sized offices and homes, the new PIXMA MX886, MX426, MX416 and MX366 incorporate improved features such as wi-fi capabilities, Advanced Media Handling, an Auto Document Feeder (ADF) and Full HD Movie Print, making them equally versatile for business and personal usage.

A new benchmark in printing speed

For this brand-new PIXMA line-up, Canon has adopted the ISO/IEC print speed standard. The PIXMA MX886 delivers printouts at an impressive rate of 12.5ipm (images per minute) and 9.3ipm for monochrome and colour documents respectively, whereas both the PIXMA MX426 and MX416 prints at 8.7ipm and 5.0ipm for monochrome and colour documents, while the PIXMA MX366 prints at 8.4ipm and 4.8ipm for monochrome and colour documents respectively..

Lab-quality photos in the comfort of the office

The PIXMA MX886 prints photos at an impressive resolution of up to 9600 x 2400 dpi, while the PIXMA MX426, MX416 and MX366 print at a high resolution up to 4800 x 1200 dpi. With these resolutions, users can now get the same high standards of photo printing quality that is usually found at photo labs.

Proving that the new range of PIXMA printers are suitable for more than just document printing, the photo print (4x6”) speeds are at a fast 20 seconds for the PIXMA MX886, 42 seconds for the PIXMA MX426 and MX 416, and 43 seconds for the PIXMA MX366.

The PIXMA MX886 employs a cost effective five individual ink tank system while the PIXMA MX426, MX416 and MX366 run on an integrated FINE Cartridge Hybrid ink system that combines dye colours with pigment black ink for outstanding text document printing, and vibrant photo images on glossy papers.

Staying connected

With the need to be always connected an essential requirement of the modern workplace, the new range of PIXMA printers are conveniently equipped with built-in wireless connectivity (except the MX366). For added convenience, these printers also support wireless photo printing from devices such as the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android devices using the Canon Easy-PhotoPrint application. This allows for images to be printed quickly and shared easily with colleagues and friends.

For users who prefer wired LAN connectivity, the PIXMA MX886 and MX426 are also equipped with a built-in Ethernet port.

Like its shining predecessors, the new PIXMA MX range includes other essential fax security features such as Fax number Re-entry, Check RX Fax Info, Caller Rejection (Caller ID), and Fax Reception Reject.

Innovative features at a click of a button

Available in the PIXMA MX886 is the revolutionary dual function touch panel that simplifies operation by only displaying the keys required for the task at hand. For example, when performing print, copy or scan functions, the corresponding navigation keys appear. When switching to the fax function, the panel will be automatically transformed into a numeric keypad. With this, the printer’s sleekness and simplicity goes beyond form into function.

All the new PIXMA MX business AIOs (except PIXMA MX366) also sport a new Reserve Copy function that allows a second copy command to be initiated and placed into the queue even as the printer is still printing the first copy. There is also a new Auto Save Fax to Memory function which allows incoming faxes to be automatically saved into an attached USB flash drive or memory card (only for PIXMA MX426) even as they are printed.

To add to the impressive line-up of new features, users can also capture precious moments from their camcorders with the new Full HD Movie Print feature on the PIXMA MX business AIOs. Users can now easily print their favourite stills from HD movies effortlessly at the click of a button. The new range of PIXMA printers is also equipped with the Easy PhotoPrint EX software which is integrated with Flickr, allowing users to easily search and print photographs from the photosharing site.

Advanced media handling capabilities

Catering to today’s fast-paced business environment, the new PIXMA MX business AIOs are equipped with Auto Duplex functions. This saves the user time and effort when printing and copying. The PIXMA MX886 also comes with a 35-sheet Duplex Auto Document Feeder (30-sheet for PIXMA MX426, MX416 & MX336, single-sided only) allowing for double sided copying and scanning.
