Canon launches the XEED WUX500, an LCOS projector with Wi-Fi and HDBaseT support
Update:- First published on 20th April, we've updated pricing and availability information today, 5th June.
Canon today launched its latest LCOS (liquid crystal on silicon) projector, the XEED WUX500. This compact installation projector sports 5,000 lumens of brightness, a 2000:1 contrast ratio, and a WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) resolution.
The 5.9kg, stackable WUX500 also features an advanced projection lens and optical system that allows it to maintain virtually the same amount of brightness at different throw distances (it’s a constant F-stop of F2.8), as well as lens shift (0-60% vertical, 0-10% horizontal) for enhanced installation flexibility.
The XEED WUX500 is also Canon’s first projector to be equipped with a built-in HDBaseT receiver, which enables uncompressed HD video, audio, and serial control signals to be transmitted via a single Ethernet cable over long distances. And with the NMPJ (Network Multi Projection) function, projections can be done from a point-to-point direct connection or over a network of multiple projectors to single or multiple computers, using both wired Ethernet and wireless connections.
Other features of the WUX500 include the ability to project large JPEG images via the USB port, a built-in edge blending function, and a 4-point keystone correction function. Connectivity-wise, the projector supports HDMI, DVI-I, USB, RJ-45, and RS-232C. It's also equipped with Wi-Fi capability.
The Canon XEED WUX500 will be available in June 2015 and its pricing will be announced at a later date.
The Canon XEED WUX500 will be available from 15th June 2015 and has a recommended retail price of S$8,500.
