Canon announced a new addition to its Scan-tini lineup with the new imageFORMULA P-208 Scan-tini personal scanner. A portable device that lets the user handle a variety of documents, such as receipts, business cards, photographs, bills and contracts, the imageFORMULA P-208 will give the travelling business user an indispensable document management tool.

In addition, when paired with the optional WU10 Wireless Adapter & Battery Pack, the P-208 scanner offers enhanced connectivity, enabling scanned files to be sent wirelessly to a variety of devices and operating systems. This recently introduced adapter allows the P-208 scanner to work wirelessly with Windows and Mac environments, as well as send files directly to smartphones and tablets using the free Canon CaptureOnTouch Mobile app on iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, and Android devices.

The P-208 Scan-tini measures only about 2-inches wide, an attribute that makes it extremely easy to carry around or stored in any home or office. Moreover, the new scanner can be powered fully by a single USB cable, helping to reduce clutter and the need for additional power cords or USB ports.

The scanning speed of the P-208 Scan-tini goes up to 8 pages-per-minute and it includes features that help improve legibility for maximum image quality, as well as features to help optimize and enhance images of scanned photographs. Besides that, it can handle a variety of document types - including thick or thin documents, and even embossed cards. To help organize a home or office, or to maintain efficiency while on-the-go, this device is also capable of scanning both sides of a document at the same time.

The imageFORMULA P-208 Scan-tini personal document scanner is expected to be available in late January in the US, at an estimated retail price of US$229.
