Canon has just introduced a new Maxify range of inkjet color printers that caters to the needs of small or home office users who do high-volume color printing, and who require advanced security, network, and cloud connectivity features. The first printers to arrive are the Maxify MB5370, MB5070, iB4070.

The multi-function Maxify MB5370 and the single-function iB4070 are fitted with two 250-sheet paper cassettes, facilitating high-volume 500-page print jobs quickly and easily. The MB5070 on the other hand has a single 250-sheet cassette. All three printers come with standard yield ink capacities of up to 1,000 pages for black-and-white, and 700 pages in color. Optional XL high-yield ink cartridges are available, and these can print up to 2,500 document pages in black-and-white and 1,500 pages in color. Canon has also developed a new Dual Resistant High Density Ink (DRHD) that it says possesses excellent water and marker-resistant properties on plain paper.

Speed-wise, all three printers feature ISO/IEC 24711-12 print speeds of up to 23 images per minute (ipm) for black-and-white documents, and up to 15ipm in color. The top-of-the-range MB5370 also has a single-pass, 2-sided automatic document feeder (ADF) scan engine for fast scanning.

To address security concerns, all three printers offer a Setting Restrictions feature, which allows an administrator password to be set to prevent unauthorized users from changing device settings. And with the Operation Restrictions feature (present on the MB5370 and MB5070), business owners can also implement cost-saving measures, such as ensuring that document copies are always made in monochrome mode, or restricting the copy function altogether for a multi-functional device. If required, the front USB port of the device can also be disabled. With the Maxify MB5370 and MB5070, owners can even track and monitor their printing, scanning, copying, or faxing records.

Last but not least, the three printers come with Wi-Fi support, so users can easily print from their mobile devices through the Maxify Printing Solutions (MPS) app that's available for both iOS and Android platforms. In addition, the integrated Maxify Cloud Link service adds cloud access functionality by allowing printing from and scanning to cloud storage providers such as Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, and Evernote. Apple's AirPrint protocol is also supported. Maxify Cloud Link can be accessed directly from the LCD display on the MB5370 and MB5070, as well as from the MPS app.

The Maxify MB5370, MB5070, iB4070 will be available in stores from February 8, 2015, with a suggested retail price of S$459, S$369, and S$219 respectively.
