Canon introduces limited edition SG50 PowerShot G7 X with red ring and emblem

To celebrate Singapore's 50th birthday this year, Canon has released a special edition of the PowerShot G7 X (SG50 Limited Edition) exclusively for the local market. The PowerShot G7 X is Canon's high-end digital compact camera, with a large 1" 20MP sensor and a fast 24-100mm f/1.8-2.8 lens. It was released late last year, and we reviewed it here.

The SG50 limited edition has a red ring control instead of black, although the red looks more magenta to us in the picture? Guess we'll have to see it in real life. There's also an SG50 emblem on the top body, and the emblem is also embossed on the included camera case.

There'll only be 500 of these made and sold, and they're all designed and manufactured in Japan. Each comes with a special 15th anniversary edition Canon G series packing and includes a certificate of authenticity.

The SG50 PowerShot G7 X is available now at a recommended retail price of S$829, which is slightly more than the original PowerShot G7 X's SRP of S$799 at launch.

The limited edition PowerShot G7 X comes with a matching camera case.
