Canon expands its ink tank printer lineup with the Pixma G4000 all-in-one
Epson isn’t the only printer maker churning out high-yield ink tank models. After the successful introduction of its Pixma G2000 and G3000 ‘Ink Efficient’ models last year, Canon has returned this year with the new G4000.
Priced at S$389, the G4000 is a wireless all-in-one device with print, scan, copy, and now fax functions. With a top print resolution of 4,800 x 1,200 dpi, ISO print speeds are rated at 8.8ipm (images per minute) for mono and 5ipm for color. More importantly, each set of inks can print up to 7,000 pages of color documents or 6,000 pages of black documents.
Once again, like its other ink tank siblings and unlike Epson’s refillable ink tank printers, the G4000 integrates the ink tanks within the body for a cleaner look. New this time is the 20-page ADF atop and the rear paper tray holds a maximum 100 pieces of plain paper. Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, and Mopria are all supported, and there’s even a print plug-in for Android and Amazon devices. Suffice to say, Canon’s own Print Inkjet / Selphy mobile app for Android and iOS also works with the G4000.
To sum up, you could say the Canon Pixma G4000 is their most business-centric ink tank model yet as it's similar to the Pixma G3000 in capability, but adds fax and ADF functions.
