The EOS 5D Mark III is already announced, yet camera enthusiasts are still waiting for another DSLR model from Canon’s camp. Anticipated to become the next Digital Rebel, the T4i or 650D is searchable on the Internet but details that are related to it remain modest. Recently, Canon Rumors has provided a few updates, mostly speculations, regarding the DSLR camera. First up is the use of a new 18-135mm lens featuring a silent autofocus motor, which the site claims confirmed. Like the higher end 5D Mark III, it is also expected that the 650D will tout Canon’s latest DIGIC 5 processor. Other details that were mentioned include the addition of a touchscreen display, 18.5-megapixel sensor, and Wi-Fi.
Twenty five (25) years after Canon first introduced the EOS label with the 650 film camera in 1987, the 650D is going to be a momentous DSLR camera for the company, like the 5D Mark III. More details regarding the 650D are expected to appear as the annual NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Show in Las Vegas approaches, in which Canon will be one of the major exhibitors.
