Canon has just announced the PowerShot S110, a curiously minor update to last year's flagship S100 digital compact camera. The two cameras are nearly identical to each other, the only major differences are the S110's new Wi-Fi and touchscreen features, and the exclusion of the built-in GPS found on the S100.
Otherwise, the new PowerShot S110 has the same 12MP sensor found in last year's S100, the same DIGIC 5 image processor, 5x optical zoom, 24-120mm lens (in 35mm equivalent) and f/2.0(W) to f/5.9(T) aperture range. It's a little disappointing next to the amazing selection of large sensor, fast lenses compact cameras we have today as compared below. Most notably what disappointed us is that the battery life has not improved when they had a chance to revise the camera. The battery life is rated at 200 images, the same as the S100. Here's the S110 compared at a glance against others from its playing field:-
