The Brydge keyboard transforms the Surface Pro into a laptop with optional storage

The Brydge 12.3 keyboard for the Microsoft Surface Pro.

Ever wanted a more sturdy keyboard companion for your Surface Pro tablet? For sure Microsoft's Type Covers are great additions, but at the end of the day, it doesn't quite feel like a keyboard on a regular notebook that is rigid, has better key travel and no flex.

If that's how you feel about your Surface Pro at the moment, you'll definitely want to check out the Brydge 12.3 Keyboard! Brydge, previously known for making keyboards for the iPads, has unveiled a Bluetooth keyboard for the new Microsoft Surface Pro (which is yet to be available locally), the Pro 3 and the Pro 4.

Weighing just 652 grams, the Brydge 12.3 boasts the same dimensions, texture and form of the Surface Pro; it combines a premium look with strength and protection through a precision engineered lightweight chassis forged out of solid aluminum. Check out the introductory video:-

Using its patented silicone hinge system, you can clip the keyboard to the Surface Pro securely. While the hinge system is designed specifically for the thickness of the new Surface Pro and Pro 4, you need to change out the hinge pads with an extra set (included in the package) if you are using with the Surface Pro 3. The hinge system offers 0 to 160 degrees of viewing ability without the need to use the Surface Pro kickstand.

The Brydge 12.3 also has LED-backlit keys with three levels of light control so that you can type comfortably in almost all lighting conditions.

There is also a Brydge 12.3 Pro 128 model which comes with an integrated 128GB High-Speed SSD Card (up to 600MB/s) to meet your immediate storage needs or expand the storage capacity at a later time.

The Brydge 12.3 and 12.3 Pro keyboards are priced at S$259 and S$429 respectively. The Brydge 12.3 is available now, but the 12.3 Pro edition will only be in stocks from late July. You can purchase the Brydge keyboards at all Antė Stores. The stores are located at:-

  • Tangs Plaza (Level 3)
  • Takashimaya (Level 3)
  • Suntec City Mall (#01-457A, Tower 1)

Alternatively, you can get them at their online store.

Brydge also has other keyboard models for the iPads:-
