Bose introduces the next-generation SoundTouch family – now with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi

With more a trillion tracks of music streamed over the first six months of 2015 alone, there really is no doubt that streaming music has taken over our listening habits, and so Bose has updated their SoundTouch family with much needed Bluetooth capabilities, allowing you to stream your music direct to the speaker from your phone, tablet or laptop.

These new speakers will be backward compatible with previous SoundTouch units, so all you need is one of the new units and you’ll instantly add Bluetooth capabilities to your home system. The system has also been upgraded to feature 802.11n dual-band Wi-Fi for a stronger and more reliable connection, while the inclusion of 5GHz support allows for better connections amidst the crowded Wi-Fi network environments of today’s apartment buildings.

Here’s a quick rundown of the new SoundTouch family:

The SoundTouch 10 comes in black and white options.

SoundTouch 10 wireless speaker – this tiny speaker measures just 21.18cm x 14.12cm x 8.71cm and combines Bose’s refined digital signal processing with a new Unidome transducer which measures just 6.35cm but yet produces the highest excursion for any transducer its size in Bose history. The result? Plenty of sound in a small package.

SoundTouch 20 and SoundTouch 30 series III - These are updated versions of last year’s releases, and bring the same great sound but with Bluetooth support. As before, the SoundTouch 30 is Bose’s most powerful single-unit solution, while the SoundTouch 20 III delivers sound to easily fill a large-sized bedroom or small living room from a more compact enclosure.

The SoundTouch 20 III retains its familiar design.

The SoundTouch 30 III remains the most powerful single unit speaker in Bose's SoundTouch line-up.

Also available, is a new Wave SoundTouch, which brings the SoundTouch technology to the Bose Wave music system. There are also new SoundTouch soundbars and home theatre systems – the SoundTouch 120 and 130 systems; and the SoundTouch 520 5.1 home theatre system. All of these provide a highly immersive movies and TV-viewing experience while doubling as wireless music systems that you can control direct from the SoundTouch app. Add to that the SoundTouch SA-5 amplifier and you have a great way to regular speakers like Bose’s own weatherproof 251 Environmental speakers into the mix – just add the SoundTouch SA-5 amplifier to the system, and any song you stream to it will start playing on the speakers that it powers.

The Wave SoundTouch brings music streaming capabilities to the Bose Wave music system.

Everything is controllable by the SoundTouch app.
