If you are using BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) on your iPhone and own an Apple Watch, you can now use the instant messaging service on your Watch.

The BBM app for the iPhone has been updated to support iOS 9 and the Apple Watch. Like iMessage, BBM will notify you of new messages and allow you to read from your wrist. You can either reply with one of the several preset templates or via voice dictation. Other features include viewing photos sent in messages, delivered and read receipts, and emoji support.

It's odd that Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp are still not supported on the Apple Watch considering that they are the two most popular instant messaging apps. WhatsApp has over 900 million monthly active users as of September while Facebook Messenger has over 700 million monthly active users as of June.

On the other hand, BlackBerry's last official update for BBM claimed an active user base of 91 million in October 2014. BBM was made available for Android and iPhone users in October 2013 where it reported over 10 million downloads in 24 hours.
