BlackBerry Hints Tablet Presence with BlackPad.com Domain Purchase

More news on the tablet front has emerged, this time from Research in Motion, the makers of BlackBerry mobile devices. Earlier rumors have pinpointed a possible 8.9" tablet from the Canadian company, but details were still scarce. Just a while ago, RIM has paid to gain ownership of the BlackPad.com domain, which could foretell the coming of the tablet running on its BlackBerry OS.

Slashgear - It's been a little bit of time since we last heard a rumor about the (supposedly) inevitable tablet from Research In Motion, so now’s as good as time as any. The company based out of Waterloo has bought a new web address, apparently making sure that they get to keep the name, “BlackPad.” It’s changed hands in the past, and so the current belief is that RIM paid some kind of sum to the previous owner, but those details are missing from this new report.

Unfortunately, no images or specs have been reported as of yet, but given the upcoming release of BlackBerry OS 6, there could be more news related to this rumored tablet in the months to come. In the meantime, check out the full story over here.
