Biostar has launched the latest edition to the CPU On-Board motherboard lineup, the A68N-5000, a mini-ITX motherboard that comes with the CPU and graphics already installed.
Offering native support for dual-channel DDR3 memory, the new motherboard uses the AMD A4-5000, a quad-core CPU with a clock speed of 1.5GHz and an integrated Radeon HD 8330 GPU that supports DX11.1 and HDMI, a single channel DDR3L 1600 memory controller, as well as the Southbridge chip with various I/O ports. In addition, the system employs heat sinks instead of fans, to help reduces noise, dust buildup, and power costs. Do note that this particular board isn't part of the new AM1 platform family that was recently announced by AMD in early March this year.
The board also incorporates Biostar technologies such as BIOS Flasher and BIOS Online Update for easy updating and restoration of the BIOS, as well as BIO-Remote2 for remote control of the system via Android and Apple devices. UEFI BIOS, the GUI with colorful icons for easy navigation, leads users directly into the setup layer, while BIO-Remote 2 enables a better Home Theater environment. If you own an Android or Apple device, you'll be able to use it as a functional remote control to access and manage the PC remotely. Additionally, the BIO-Remote 2 also includes both the function of a mouse pad and a powerpoint presentation controller.
