Beats Powerbeats 3 earphones with Apple W1 chip now available in Singapore

The Beats Powerbeats 3 Wireless earphones are now available in Singapore. They come in Black, White, Shock Yellow, Flash Blue, and Siren Red at S$268. The list of Beats' official physical retailers can be found here.

In case you missed it, the Powerbeats 3 has a secure ear-hook design and water-resistance build, targeted at sporty folks. It also comes with a battery life of 12 hours, and it supports quick-charge; a five-minute recharge can push out an hour’s worth of music.

What’s big about the Powerbeats 3 is the inclusion of Apple’s W1 wireless chip. The W1 lets you quickly pair the headphones to, say, your iPhone, and once that's done, you can seamlessly switch the pairing with your other devices (be it running iOS, macOS or watchOS), as long as they use the same iCloud account. Other than the Powerbeats 3, the only other W1-equipped headphones you can readily buy is the Beats Solo 3 Wireless. Other features on the Powerbeats 3 include Class 1 Bluetooth, which gives approximately 20 to 30 meters wireless range. That’s much further than the typical 10m range found on standard Bluetooth 4.0 devices.

As we reported a while back, the Powerbeats 3 were first made available for order on the online Apple Store.
