BAPCo Releases TabletMark V2 Cross-Architecture Performance Benchmark for Windows 8 Touch-enabled Devices

BAPCo has announced TabletMark V2, the new cross-architecture performance benchmark that explores different performance aspects of touch-enabled devices.

Building on the original TabletMark, the latest version now has the ability to measure battery life, providing users an automated tool to evaluate system performance and battery life across a wide range of activities. The new software automates activities into three different usage scenarios - Web, Email, and Notes; Photo & Video Sharing, and Video Playback. It also incorporates user pause times to help simulate real usage patterns. Results are displayed for the user at the conclusion of the run.

Unlike synthetic benchmarks, which only aim to measure one aspect of performance, TabletMark V2 uses a broad variety of Microsoft’s Modern APIs, expert selected user workloads and varied data sets in an effort to more closely reflect the performance a user might expect when performing similar workloads across a wide variety of real world applications.

TabletMark V2 is available for download from the Microsoft Store.
