Aztech Releases Android-Powered PlayXtreme Media Player

Aztech releases the PlayXtreme, an Internet TV Hub.

Powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, the PlayXtreme media player converts a regular TV to an Internet-enabled one. All users will need is a broadband connection, and a TV with HDMI or composite video input.

Besides media playback, you can also enjoy internet entertainment on the big screen with your friends and family instead of being confined to your traditional small screens of the PC, laptop or tablet devices. The PlayXtreme uses a HDMI 1.3 digital AV interface to support up to 1080p video resolution output while the Android 2.3 OS lends support to HTML5 and Flash 10.3 to render web pages in their most complete form.

The benefits of using the Android OS is put into full use by the PlayXtreme as it comes pre-installed with popular apps for access to the latest news and weather updates. It also allows users to install other games and useful apps to further the media player's capabilities.

Last but not least, it is accompanied by a 2.4GHz wireless QWERTY remote control for easy text input and navigation.

It will be available at S$199 at the SITEX Show from the 24th to 27th Nov.
