Apple is likely to be releasing its next generation iPhone(s) in September as there is an unofficial confirmation from the world's largest online retailer, Amazon.
According to Amazon Japan, the 4.7-inch Apple iPhone 6 (64GB) will be in stock on September 30 with a premium price tag of US$1,380 (approximately S$1,712 based on currency rates at press time). In comparison, the current iPhone 5S (64GB) retails for S$1,288.
The online retailer also listed the dimensions of the next iPhone to be 130 x 65 x 7mm and 113g. To put these numbers into context, the iPhone 5S measures 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6mm and weighs 112g. From the Android camp, the 4.7-inch HTC One (2013) has dimensions of 137.4 x 68.2 x 4 ~ 9.3mm and a weight of 143g, while the Motorola Moto X's dimensions are 129.4 x 65.3 x 5.7 ~ 10.4mm and weighs 130g.
The dimensions listed on Amazon Japan support an earlier report by Australian writer Sonny Dickson that the new iPhone will sport a thinner design. Another rumor suggested that the next iPhone is even thinner at 6.1mm; a fifth generation iPod Touch could fit perfectly in an an alleged iPhone 6 case.
We are just two months away from the expected launch event and we believe as the date draws closer, we will see more leaks on the iPhone.
