ASUS has just announced that the Xonar U7 USB sound card and headphone amplifier will be available in Singapore at the end of May.

The Xonar U7 USB soundcard and headphone amplifier aims to serve the needs of gamers who want to enjoy clear and strong sound via headphones without the need of opening up their PC case and installing traditional soundcards.

The Xonar U7 supports 7.1 channel audio and also 192kHz/24 bit high-definition audio tracks. Additionally, it also offers support for Dolby Theater V4 and is powerful enough to drive headphones of up to 150 ohms. Despite its compact size, it also has a healthy selection of output connectivity options including standard RCA ports and digital S/PDIF coaxial.

We recently had a quick hands-on with the Xonar U7 at ASUS' Essence of Sound event and found it to be a capable performer. More importantly, it is really compact which means for working individuals, it can be easily brought from home to office, ensuring you never have to sacrifice on audio quality.
