First showcased at the CES Show earlier this year in January, the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity is the world's first Full HD Android tablet equipped with a Full HD 1920 x 1200 Super IPS+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2. Utilizing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform, the device incorporates the ASUS SonicMaster technology which features a combination of advanced hardware and software to deliver lifelike audio, and transforms from a tablet into a notebook with the detachable Mobile Dock accessory.
Driven by NVIDIA's Tegra 3 T33 4-PLUS-1 quad-core processor which includes a 12-core GeForce GPU, the extra battery-saver core handles low-power tasks such as active standby, music and video, and is transparent to the OS and applications. The display's 16:10 aspect ratio and wide 178-degree viewing angle makes it ideal for watching Full HD videos or playing the latest HD games.
Measuring a mere 8.5mm thin and weighing only 598g, the Infinity provides up to 14 hours of extended battery life, while its USB port and SD card slot offers additional storage options. Capable of recording Full HD 1080p videos at 30fps, the 8-megapixel rear camera has a large F/2.2 aperture, 5-element lens, and touch-to-focus capabilities. It also comes with a 2-megapixel front camera for video conferencing. With 64GB of internal memory as well as 8GB of free storage on ASUS WebStorage for life, it comes in two colors - Amethyst Gray and Champagne Gold.
Backed by a 1-year warranty, the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity 64GB is available now at S$1,099. The availability of the 32GB version will be announced at a later date.
