ASUS releases new 10Gbps LAN workstation motherboard - the X99-E-10G WS

ASUS releases the X99-E-10G WS – a CEB (Compact Electronics Bay) workstation motherboard made for the Intel X99 chipset. The X99-E-10G WS comes with the latest connectivity options, and it also has a built-in dual high speed 10Gbps LAN. That’s plenty, even for your server or workstation needs.

The ASUS X99-E-10G WS workstation motherboard has seven PCIe 3.0 slots and it is able to accommodate up to four dual-slot graphic cards. It also supports both Nvidia GeForce SLI and AMD CrossFireX configurations for multiple GPU designs. This makes the motherboard suitable for users who deal with design and modeling, medical research, or various other processor-intensive simulations and rendering work.

The bump up to 10Gbps LAN support makes the X99-E-10G WS the first ASUS workstation motherboard to have the high-speed networking option. It uses built-in dual Intel 10G Base-T Ethernet connections to support network speeds up to ten times of traditional gigabit LAN sockets.

Finally, the motherboard comes with USB 3.1 connectivity that delivers transfer speeds that are twice the speed of USB 3.0. It comes with a traditional USB 3.1 Type-A socket, and the new reversible Type-C port as well (also USB 3.1). ASUS sweetens its USB port performance with its proprietary USB 3.1 Boost technology. The motherboard also has M.2 and U.2 sockets, so you can equip it with the latest storage technologies since they can manage transfer speeds of up to 32Gbps. ASUS claims that these slots make your storage devices perform up to 5.3 times faster than traditional SSDs.

ASUS’s exclusive 5-Way Optimization tuning optimizes the system based on real-time use to bring CPU performance, energy saving measures, stable digital power, quiet fan parts, and even networking or audio settings that are catered to your favorite apps. Its Crystal Sound 3 audio technology provides shielding from electromagnetic interference by separating left and right audio channel circuits.

The ASUS X99-E-10G WS costs S$999 and it is available now. More specifications below:
