Battery-powered LED projectors are popular among mobile professionals because of their great portability. To attract consumers, makers are also increasingly cramming new features into them.

The 750g ASUS P3B, which goes on sale next month, is one such beamer. Sporting an LED light source that boasts a maximum lifespan of 30,000 hours, it has a built-in 12,000mAh battery that provides up to three hours of usage, and which also doubles as a power bank for mobile devices.

The 800-lumen, 1,280 x 800-pixel DLP projector has an ultra short-throw lens (projection distance from 0.43m), which is useful for tight spaces. You can project content from various devices via the P3B's HDMI/MHL and VGA ports, onboard storage, or flash memory connected to its USB ports and microSD card slot. Several multimedia and document formats are supported for PC-free viewing and playback.

Also going on sale next month is the B1MR, another LED projector but with 900 lumens of light output and no internal battery. A short-throw projector (projection distance from 0.6m), it supports PC-free multi-format compatibility with its built-in HDMI port, SD card reader, USB port, and dual ASUS SonicMaster audio speakers. This 900g projector can also use a small Wi-Fi adapter to establish a direct wireless connection to notebooks and Android/iOS devices.

The ASUS P3B and B1MR will retail for S$1,199 and S$1,159 respectively.
