One month after announcing several new tablets at Computex 2014, ASUS Singapore is launching two of them in the local market today. They are the MeMO Pad 8 (ME181) and Transformer Pad TF103C. Available from today at all ASUS authorised retailers and ASUS brand stores, the MeMO Pad 8 (ME181) and Transformer Pad TF103C retail for S$269 and S$399 (inclusive of keyboard dock) respectively.
The MeMO Pad 8 (ME181) runs on an Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core 1.83GHz processor, 1GB RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat. It has an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels, and sports an internal storage capacity of 16GB. Its microSD memory card slot can support memory cards up to 64GB. There are two colors to choose from: black and white.
The Transformer Pad TF103C is quite an attractive deal for the specs it has. Right off the bat, it is powered by the same processor as the MeMO Pad 8 (ME181) albeit with a higher clock speed of up to 1.86GHz and 1GB RAM. Its 10.1-inch display has the same resolution (1,280 x 800 pixels) and comes with the same internal storage capacity of 16GB and microSD memory card support up to 64GB.
As a tablet, the TF103C weighs about 550g. Its keyboard dock has the same weight, hence you are looking at a combined weight of 1.1KG in the laptop form factor. The white TF103C is available exclusively at all Best Denki outlets.
