ASUS Launches High Performance Mainstream and Duo Node 1U Servers for AMD G34v

Extreme Density and Reliability Servers for Intense Computing Roles

ASUS today released the RS704DA-E6/PS4 duo-node and RS500A-E6/PS4 servers, based on the dual-socket AMD G34 platform, with the RS704DA-E6/PS4 supporting dual node high volume computing. Equipped with large memories, 80+ power supplies and virtualization applications, these servers provide optimal performance and reliability.

Outstanding Performance with the Latest Technologies

The RS500A-E6/PS4 delivers outstanding performance with up-to-date AMD Opteron 6100 series processors, using triple HT3 links between CPUs to provide up to a 25.6GB/s bandwidth, achieving extremely fast transfer rates.

As a dual-node server, the RS704DA-E6/PS4 is designed with a dual DP system in a 1U chassis, with 16 DIMM slots and up to 256GB memory per node. This provides up to 84 nodes or 2,016 computing cores in a 42U cabinet, offering extreme computing density.

High Speed Interconnection for HPC (RS704DA-E6/PS4 only)

To meet the demands of HPC applications, the RS704DA-E6/PS4 features a QFSP port at the rear panel to deliver high speed interconnectivity (40Gbps) from a built-in Infiniband QDR chipset.

Energy Saving with 80+ (Gold) Power Efficiency and EPU Technology

Equipped with 80+ (gold) power supply modules, the servers improve power efficiency, reduce power loss and save on power bills. Additionally, the RS500A-E6/PS4 comes equipped with ASUS’ proprietary EPU (Energy Processing Unit) technology, which intelligently calibrates settings to ensure the best power management possible.

Super Reliability with a PIKE Upgrade Kit

To improve storage capacity, the RS704DA-E6/PS4 and RS500A-E6/PS4 support SATA or SAS hard drives, offering users complete RAID functionality (together with PIKE) and data protection. The optional ASUS PIKE SAS2 6G upgrade kit provides a cost-effective storage interface upgrade and multiple storage options.

Designed for Virtualization

Virtualization enables central management, reduces power consumption, lowers cooling costs and simplifies procedures. The RS704DA-E6/PS4 and RS500A-E6/PS4 provide excellent virtualization applications with VMWare certification. The onboard vertical USB connector is designed for easy deployment, allowing full use of system resources and reducing IT expenditure.

Realtime and Out-of-Band Server Management

To improve server manageability, users of these servers can choose the optional ASMB4-iKVM module to provide realtime web-based management and remote system control (KVM-over-IP) from any local computer.
