ASUS to Launch PadFone X in U.S. Exclusively from AT&T

Running on the Android 4.4 KitKat platform, the 5-inch PadFone X transforms into a 9-inch full HD tablet when the phone is docked. AT&T will carry the mobile device exclusively in the U.S., with pricing and availability to be announced at a later date.

At CES 2014, AT&T announced that it will carry the ASUS PadFone X, a smartphone and tablet in one, exclusively in the U.S. Pricing, detailed specifications, and availability will be announced at a later date.

Running on the Android 4.4 KitKat platform, the 5-inch PadFone X transforms into a 9-inch full HD tablet when the phone is docked. In a brushed metal frame, soft-touch back cover, the PadFone X features:-

  • Seamless Transition – Simply dock the smartphone and Apps running will instantaneously auto-adjust to fit the larger PadFone station display
  • Optimal Experience – Consumers can select the display experience that’s optimized for the application and their environment
  • Large Battery – The companion PadFone X Station includes a large battery that charges the smartphone’s battery when docked, providing two times longer battery life



The gadget supports LTE-Advanced technology, including Carrier Aggregation, and VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and HD Voice. It features a NFC sensor that supports Isis Mobile Wallet, AT&T’s mobile payments system. Isis Mobile Wallet lets users make payments when used with a secure SIM card. Customers can use Isis Mobile Wallet to save money with special offers and redeem loyalty cards at participating merchants nationwide.
