More than a week after teasing the dual-camera features of the ZenFone 4, ASUS has officially confirmed the launch date for the phone.

Posted in its ZenTalk forum, ASUS confirmed that a press conference would be held on 17 August. The Taiwanese company also announced that Gong Yoo, a South Korean actor, is the ZenFone Brand Ambassador for the Asia-Pacific region.

The image in the invitation shows off the rear of the ZenFone 4 and seems to suggest that the upcoming phone will not have a camera bump. The recently announced ZenFone 4 Max and ZenFone Zoom S have a slight camera bump on the back.

ASUS CEO Jerry Shen reportedly mentioned that the ZenFone 4 series will be priced competitively. Initially slated for launch in May, ASUS pushed the schedule back so that it had more time to improve the design and upgrade the specs.
