ASRock Announces Two AMD FM2+, Kaveri-Compatible Motherboards, Certified as ‘AMP 2400 Ready’

ASRock has just announced two of its AMD FM2+ motherboards have been certified to support AMD 2400MHz+ AMP (AMD Memory Profile). This means with the selection of a BIOS setting, and supported memory modules, their operating frequencies can be set easily.

The AMD Memory Profile is in direct competition with the more popular and entrenched Intel XMP (Extreme Memory Profile). Generally speaking, motherboards that support such memory profiles will automatically load pre-configured settings. This occurs when the user selects the appropriate profile with supported memory modules.

Currently, ASRock has unveiled the FM2A88X Extreme6+ and FM2A88X-ITX+ as ‘AMP 2400 Ready’. This means that users are able to attempt to overclock their memory modules to the rated clock speed of 2400MHz, without having to meddle with the memory timings and operating voltages. The company also made known of their plans to extend this certification to all their AMD FM2+ boards.

The ASRock FM2A88X Extreme6+ is an ATX board that features the AMD A88X chipset; while the FM2A88X-ITX+ is its mini-ITX counterpart. Both of them support the latest AMD Kaveri APU. For more information on the boards, do visit their respective product pages.
