Apple Watch 2 in the works, rumored to launch in end Q2 2016

Apple is said to be releasing the next-gen Watch in late Q2 2016.

The Apple Watch has been in the market for more than a year and rumors are now pegging a launch date in Q2 2016.

According to Quanta’s chairman Barry Lam, Apple has started working on the next generation Watch and it is expected to hit retail shelves towards the end of Q2 2016. As with any new product launch, stocks are expected to be limited at launch with supply catching up in Q3.

Cowen and Company analyst Timothy Arcur released a research memo in September where he predicted a launch schedule in mid to late 2016. An earlier rumor also suggested that the Apple Watch 2 will sport the same screen size, resolution and shape. To date, Apple is estimated to have shipped nearly 7 million Apple Watches
